9 month old-How much to eat? HELP
« on: July 13, 2012, 16:57:07 pm »
My little guy started purees at 6 months and we've been doing BLW the last month 1/2. I give him steamed veggies, avocado on toast, ww toast with hummus, black beans, pretty much anything.  He was 19.8 lbs at his 9 mnth checkup yet was 20 when we were there at 7 1/2 months for a "sick" visit. The ped suggested I up the solids but since its BLW & not the jarred/pouched baby foods how much servings or cups should I be giving? Lets say breakfast i cook old fashioned oats and mix in some fresh banana or blueberries or unsweetened applesauce. He gets 4 bottles at 7 oz each. Thanks!

I would let him eat until he makes it clear he is full.  For example if he is finishing all his oats maybe offer a piece of toast after it, and the next day make a larger serving of oats and see how he goes.
You can't force feed him, only offer a range of different foods, as you are doing and let him eat to his fill.
