so many questions!
« on: July 25, 2012, 19:22:34 pm »
am on week 3 of solids with my 6mo...she's doing really well, loving everything except parsnip so far.i'm giving her 1oz of fruit/veg twice a day (aroudn 8am & 12.30) with 1oz EBM mixed in.

now for the questions!!! ???

when do i start giving a 3rd meal?

when do i increase the 1oz?

when should i start introducing "texture"?

how do i introduce texture?do i use baby rice?pasta? (haven't given her any rice yet)

think that's it for now!!!

thanks in advance!x

I'm afraid I am going to point you in the direction of the FAQs as it was 2 years since I weaned Olly now and I cannot remember the details to be honest with you!

How is she doing with solids now? Taking well to them? I think that is crucial for upping meals and amounts tbh.

Hopefully others can chime in with their experiences too!

Great! I *think* that we introduced a third meal and then when that was established look at increasing amounts at each meal. I followed Annabel Karmel's book if you have that?

As for introdusing texture, could you mash foods well instrad of puree? And some very soft finger foods?

Can't think what finger foods we had at that age - if any. The BLW thread would be a great starting point for ideas!

Olly was always the slowest eater. I didn't want to apply any presure so just let him take as long as he needed.
