Hi everyone,
This is my first time on the site and have bobbed on because someone I know recommended it - feel like I've been missing out!! Just wanted some advice really...
Our 25 week old LO has been sleeping through from 6:30 - 6:30 for some time now with a feed at 11:00pm before we go to bed, which we woke her up for.
A week ago, we decided it was time to try and drop that last feed (she has been on solids too from about 18 weeks on the advice of the HV so is on 2/3 fairly decent pureed meals a day). The first night, she slept as she usually does but since then, she has been waking at 5:30am! I would be quite happy with 6am, ideally 6:30am as it has always been but 5:30am is just too early, especially as she has been shattered again an hour later but will not go back to sleep! We have tried treating it as a night-time waking but no luck.
Her routine currently is as follows:
5:30am - WIDE AWAKE!
6:30am - milk feed followed by solids
9:00am - nap for about an hour (by which time she is shattered but don't want her to use this nap to top her night-time sleep up)
11:30am - solids followed by milk feed
12:00pm - nap (usually around 2-2.5 hours) She does get tired later in the afternoon again but is a sleep fighter and won't sleep so is shattered by bedtime!)
3:00pm - milk feed
5:00pm - solids
6:00pm - bath and milk feed
6:30-6:45pm - bedtime
She is lactose intolerant which is slightly concerning me as she only gets the calcium she needs from her milk which she only has half of first thing in the morning (so I guess it's not hunger waking her up) and about half at 3:00pm. The other 2 bottles, she usually drinks pretty much all of.
Sorry for the long post, but just wondered if some of you could share your daytime routines and also shed any light on why she is wide awake so early in the mornings.
Thanks so much,
Anita xx
