I don't think it's too much of a jump, some mums will BF and offer bottles of formula, in which case they offer a full feed. At her age 4oz is a really small feed, as she is having solids as well she is used to digesting different things now so the formula shouldn't be a problem.

I would think the spilling at bedtime was just her tummy was too full at that point - was she cluster feeding? Breast milk digests a lot quicker than formula so I wouldn't think it was from an accumulation throughout the day - those feeds would have been long digested!

sorry,i should have clarified.i gave her 4 oz formula & then finished the feed with 2oz BM in the bottle.
up until 5 days ago,she never had formula,so it was all BM in the bottles. no,she wasnt cluster feeding.
