My 3.25 yr old has not napped for about 5 mos. We rest everyday for 30-45 mins (pending on my nap needs, ha!) but he just reads or stares at the wall or plays quietly in his room. When we started the transition, he was napping from 2-3 hrs a day, but then staying up too late. It turns out that even a 45 min nap will cause him to go to bed at 9:30 instead of his usual 6:30/7. He is a habitual EW, always wakes at 6 or slightly earlier (since birth), no matter the bedtime. Unless he gets lights out by 6:30, then he will sleep closer to 12 hours. The problem is that he has just started preschool. He only goes 2x/wk for less than 3 hours, but he is exhausted when he comes home. I have tried waking him from the nap he so needs after 45 mins, but then we hit a late BT, causing the next day to be pretty off with his tired attitude. So the question is a) do we nip the nap and stick with the same BT everynight (which stinks, it's so early!!) or do we alternate early BT and late BT nights with what his sleeps needs are? Is it best to go to bed every night at the same time? We are clueless here...thanks!
