Cluster Feeds
« on: September 21, 2012, 14:22:19 pm »
I am confused about cluster feeds. My baby is 5 weeks old, do i feed them a full bottle at 6 & 8 or just half the bottle also she will be asleep for the second cluster feed to should i wake her up.

She normally gets fed at 7, 10, 1, 4, 7 & 10 so should i change her 7 o'clock feed to 6 and then should i still feed her at 10.

I really don't know what i am doing.

If she is doing ok on the feed times as they are I would leave it as you would be dropping the clusters in a couple of weeks anyway. Some babies naturally cluster feed in the evenings, but many don't. If you are following her hunger cues and she doesn't ask for feeds sooner than the 3 hours she may not cluster feed anyway.

I would carry on as you are and offer full feeds everytime.

What do you think?
