16 wks and refusing bedtime bottle
« on: September 25, 2012, 17:42:37 pm »
DS is 16 weeks and for about the last 3 or 4 weeks is a monster to feed his last bottle before bed.  He fights us and cries and we only can manage to get about 2 oz into him before he goes to sleep.  We've tried different positions, in his room with the lights off, walking him around.  We're in the process of going to a 4 hour Easy, so now that his bedtime feed is close to his last afternoon feed he's even worse.

Luckily he's ok with a dream feed and we can make up for that last bottle and he's doing pretty good at STTN, but I wonder if anyone has ever experienced this?

It's probably because the 2 feeds are too close together and he's just not hungry. That should sort itself out when you get to the 4 hour EASY, he could just be too tired at bedtime too if you are stretching A times at the moment.

Do you want to post your EASY so we can have a look?

Yesterday went something like this and today is looking to be about the same.  He's done well with the A and E times so I think we'll stretch him again in a couple days.

E 7:00
S 8:35
E 10:10
S 11:40
E 1:20
S 2:45
E 4:30
S 5:50-6:30
E 7:00
S 7:30

We've just started the switch to 4 hr but the fighting started way before this...any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
