The green poop is often a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance, or a sign of something bugging his tummy.  However, if it goes away, it's probably just that with more frequent feedings he might not be getting as much hindmilk.  The best way to help it is to make sure he's taking one side fully before offering the second.  :)

Thanks, I'm trying to do single side feeding but last few days he's been frequently feeding a lot so I may have been swapping out too quick ;)

Yeah, green was definitely foremilk overload for us, often coincided with GS too ;) Worth trying to keep one side for 3hr if feeding more frequently than that. Will also help reduce post-GS oversupply madness.

I had a few days of green poo as well - I have REALLY low iron (they wanted me to have a blood transfusion when DS2 was a week old but i said no) Im on iron tablets and trying to eat more red meat (although I always forget to take the tablets). I was a little concerned but it hasnt continued so I didnt worry.

Im hoping GS for you and no reflux - I always heard the term reflux but just never realised how hard it can be!! Hugs xx

Probably just a bit too much foremilk, then.  Some Breast compression can help get a bit more hindmilk in.

Still hoping it's regular NB refluxing rather than anything more.  :-*

:-* we have gripe water, it helps but T seems more resistant than Z to getting them out ::)
Lol yes DH was our champ burper with Z but even he struggles with T.

We can get infacol here, or gas drops? Haven't tried drops? Infacol only used with Z once he had a bottle and was much older. How do I do infacol with BF...actually I'll google it!

I'm considering infacol too...DD is a difficult burper, she also gags and swallows frequently during her nap time...I think she might have silent reflux but my gp doesn't seem to worry too much

P.S I had terrible engorgement, cabbage leaves are amazing for that! :)

Does she seem in discomfort?
We have the infacol here now too. ;)

Ladies, let me know if a new thread is better... Thought I'd sake here first though ;)
W had 3 week weigh in and in 2 weeks at has gained 800gms. From 8pds4.5oz to 10pds ::) so confirmed me thought with MW that he is over feeding to compensate for discomfort. He seemed to be hungry more frequently. So what I was doing is not feeding before 2.5hrs. Now I think I'll need to keep it to 3. He will do 4 in the arvo and 6/7 hrs in first stretch at night. ...

I guess my question is how to best attempt an EAS? Do I aim for 3hr in am then 4 hr in pm? W have a loose routine already ATM which is feeding like this from morning - lets say morning feed is 7.30 (today's)
E 7.30
E 10
E 12.30
E 4.30
E 6.30/7.30 (was feeding like 2/3 times in 2/3 hrs but last night did 2 feeds in 2 hrs only and he settled better)
E 1amish
E sometime between 4-5

Ok...or try to stretch feeds a bit? I know he's tiny, but with Z I got into this frequent feeding and it made the reflux worse, he ended up snacking too then not settling KWIM!?

Sara - I'm in the same position! C also had a big weight gain due to comfort feeding because of the reflux. I think I'm going to try and stick to 3hr today and see how we get on. If he is really struggling ill drop it to 2.5 but any less and I know he is snacking. Last night he went 7 hours between feeds so I know he doesn't need fed every 2 hours!

Mmmm...have you managed to get those feeds a bit more like 3h apart in the morning now?  The ones you've given there mainly look like 2.5h?

Is he asking for it at those times?
