Yes, from 6 months it's fine to use cow's milk in cereals and in cooking just not as a drink until they are 1. We gave weetabix and cow's milk for breakfast from 6 months, it's nice with a bit of fruit puree mixed in!

cool!!!
i'll put it on my shopping list so!
i have a fair bit of the baby cereals left (i have been going between 4 different cereals)so maybe i'll jsut add that into the mix too...
usually, we make up an 8oz bottle & use whatever she doesn't drink (usually an oz/oz.5) for her cereal.
woudl i be better to use the cow's milk?

It doesn't matter really - using the last bit of bottlevis fine, if she drinks it all use a bit of cow's milk. I used more cow's milk with no2 because we always had milk in the fridge for no1. They need to have full fat milk and as we drink semi skimmed it was easier to use formula when DS was only having an oz or 2 on his cereal rather than wasting most of a pint!

If I was cooking a batch of cheese sauce or something I did use cow's milk because it tastes better than formula!

I'm following you 2 around tonight! I haven't done much cows milk yet - I have given it to her to try to drink from a sippy - she doesn't like it cold though. I switched from baby cereals ages ago to Oatibix - it makes perfect baby cereal mushed up. And she also has it in porridge - normal grown up porridge when we have it.
