What time did she get up in the end?

I peeked in at 9:15 and she was just waking up.  I didn't want to wake her because we have dinner at my moms tonight and I'm fine with her staying up if she wants.  She seems pretty happy this morning besides the usual 2yr old stuff :)  I know she probably won't nap today, but will still give her quiet time in her room.  Going to keep bedtime between 7:30 and 8pm unless she crashes and needs to be in bed sooner.

Does this mean you are getting 13 hour nights? WOW! We are gtting 11 hour nights and 13 hour days!

Have now created a post and Vicki I saw your and Becky's comments on TM's thread that during 1-0 11 hours is not enough.

Buntybear, I think it really depends on how his behavior is. I know that there are kids that sleep 11 h even on nn day and take a nap every few days. Really, for me the behavior, and not the timings, is the most important thing to look for. I know that F would NEVER do 13 h (and even consistently 12 h) nights, so I suspect that when we will drop the nap completely he will do it with 11-12 h nights.

Vicky, could this sudden nap refusal be a 3 yo sleep regression? I hope that he will continue coping well.
Welcome back honey, I am happy you all feel well now after sickness.

I hope you all had good nights.
We had a 10.45 h night with a 1 h nap yesterday (at MIL's) so not bad.

Hey Hun, honestly, it is all some Mammy's can get, but I don't think for a moment it is enough, hand on heart. But if his behaviour is okay and he is coping then who am I to disagree. What happens if you put him down after a shorter day have you tried it consistently Hun  ???

Thank you Honey. Yes, it could be, who knows. Today is day 8. His day yesterday unintentionally ended up 11 hours 15 long and he had 4  NW...ugh  :P. He still clocked up around 12.5 hours sleep though, if not more. However today he is very very tired and it has shown in his behaviour big time, apart from the fact he is constantly saying "I'm tired!" but a car nap failed. I am going for a 10 hour day/5pm BT,  hoping he will do his best super tack for us. Finger's X'd.

M will sleep up to 14 hours but that is rare, he usually sleeps between 12-13 hours without a nap. When he does nap which is VERY rare, he will only sleep 10-10.5 hours.

Vicki, M just started saying, "I'm tired" a couple days ago and it's so funny because I dont think he even knows what it means. Is there any way you could explain to him that when he is tired, its ok to lay down for a few minutes. I remember when my other children would be tired but they didnt like the idea of taking a nap. So after alot of explaining that you dont have to sleep, but lets lay down for a minute they finally understood and sometimes they would even fall asleep.

Thanks Mama C, I am actually lucky with him that he will do quiet time without any fuss. He loves to snuggle up on the sofa and watch a movie with me, so that will probably be what will get us through the bad days. Got him down at a 10 hour day which was around 5.15, so please God he's not up for the day after 12 hours or I will need to APOP myself stupid to get a nap out of him tomorrow and I doubt it will work. Otherwise I will have no choice but to stretch his day far too long. I am scared of BT sneaking forward to stupid early  ::).

Fingers x'd that he sleeps at least 13 hours for you. Sometimes M will wake at 5:am acting wide awake but I treat it as a nw since there is no way I want to be up at that hour and he eventually goes back to sleep.

I just put M down at 5:50 hoping he goes to sleep quickly. We almost had a bt battle with him wanting to watch more mickey mouse, but I nipped it in the bud right quick before he could get his mind set on it. If I'm lucky he'll be asleep before 6;30 and sleep until 7:00 when I wake him.

Just had a horrible bed time meltdown after her 3rd nn day.  We got her to bed later than we intended last night, so she ended up having an 11hr day yesterday, slept 12hrs last night, and refused nap again today.  Just got her into bed after 10hr15min day, she actually kicked me out because she knew how tired she was and just wanted to go to bed :(  Hopefully she gets a good long sleep in tonight!

I really hope we can find that magic day length for DD so she can refuse to nap but still be happy, yk?  Obviously 11hr days are not something she can do once but not something she can do every day.

When M first started refusing to nap, his days had to be 10-10.5 hours. But now that he has gotten used to nn days he does better on 11 hours.

Sam slept 13 hours but the NW are becoming more frequent, it's so hard to drag my backside out of bed, I'm tired because this virus is still holding on.

How was M's night Mama C  ???

Tinkerbell, this makes total sense to me. With Sam in the past he could do an 11 hour day and sleep 13, and by day 3 he wouldn't be doing so well. I had to shorten the day as the days went on IYKWIM  ??? Basically as we went through the days his nights would shorten, so after a short night I would do a shorter day, kind of like topping him up, I hope that makes sense, not explaining myself as well as I would like. Today will be day 9 NN for him and I am still having to do that same, I don't think it's a case of finding the magic day length and sticking to it every day, I think we're going to have to be adaptable for some time. Only problem is, I worry his BT will creep forward to silly o clock  ::) as the morning WU's are getting earlier now, we were up at 6.20 today, because of a 5.20 settling last night  :(

^^^ this. We do same thing, aim for 10.5hrs on day 1, days 2 & 3 I need to put him down after 10hrs maxor he gets OT. The earlier bt may mean a slightly earlier wu the next day, but then this ensures i can get a nap out of him. IIWY i'd try for one today.x

Since o went in his bbb he's woken around 7am everyday (no more 9am lie ins :-( )so he's napped every day for almost a week now. He's really pushing his naptime tho, its been nearly 2pm before he's asleep most days. Today he was up a touch later at 7.30 so we'll see if he takes a nap! If not 6pm bt here we come!

Hey Claire  :-* I'm so glad the BBB is working out, it's a relief when you jump these milestones isn't it  ???  :) Do you think Oliver's early mornings and napping again are down to the BBB alone  ??? I only ask because Sam has gone in and out of NN days, and it just seems to happen that way, maybe with various developments and regressions YK  ??? Could just be co-incidental  :-\.

Thanks for your thoughts ladies!  DD had 2 nws, one because she had a pee and wanted me to change her diaper (thanks to potty training she's becoming more aware of what's in that diaper!), the other because I peeked in to make sure she still had her covers on and I think I woke her...It's 8:30am and she's still asleep, so she's already gotten 14hrs of sleep in :)  I'm going to guess that she won't nap today, lol.

How was M's night Mama C
Michael also slept 13 hours, it was actually about 12.50 because he fell asleep right around 6:10 last night then I woke him at 7 this morning. And he had 2 nw's I think, I dont really remember because I was so sleepy last night. I know once I got up was just to change him. Today was another nn day, I dont even remember how long its been since he napped. I did find that when the nw's start increasing that means he is getting ot and I would do a 9.5 hour day to make up for it. But that was when I was letting him sleep in until 8am. Now that I am waking him at 7:00 I might go the other way and do bt at 5:45 tonight then let him sleep in tomorrow and still do bt at 5:45 so that  instead of shortening the end of the day I can shorten the start of the day and keep bt the same. If that makes sense. But that will only work if he does sleep in.
