Very short A time 7,5 wk old
« on: November 11, 2012, 08:08:17 am »
Hello everyone, new here, my name is Wilma and I'm from Holland. Used easy very happily with my two children. Now DS #3, and everything is different. He was born at 41wks and is breastfed.

His easy is not yet regular, sometimes naps 1 hour, sometimes 1h15min, sometimes 2h15min. His A time is consistenly very short. Before 5 weeks it was 45 min, then it extended to 1 hr, but since a couple of days it is down to 30-35 min. Actually, after feeding (20-25 min) and a nappy is starts yawning! I take him down to play a little, he starts fussing with half closed eyes within minutes, so I'll bring him to bed. Yesterday he slept 19 hrs! Previously he did not sleep long, 1 hr max.

Is this normal? Worrysome? Part of a milestone?

thanks for your comments!

Wilma

Could just be that his brain is working hard ;) http://www.thewonderweeks.com/index.php/about-the-wonder-weeks/your-babys-10-leaps/mental-leap-2

Could also be that he is growing - babies often sleep more in a growth spurt. If he's sleeping, enjoy it. He will wake up from the sleepy newborn phase soon :)
