training husband on 3 hr easy?
« on: November 16, 2012, 15:42:27 pm »
So here's my daily dilemma...how do I get my husband trained on the 3 hour easy program?
I've had my ds going great on the 3 hr routine until I had to go back to work 2 weeks ago...so daddy is home with him now...and ds routine is out of wack!
DS is now 11 weeks old and is being fed every 2 hours!!  (5 oz each time, total intake around 40 oz including NF and DF)
I know this is more of a daddy misunderstanding cues or do what it takes to stop ds from crying.  He's crying b/c he's OT and needs to be helped back to sleep.
I know this but how can I help my husband understand?  And yes this is our 1st kiddo.
(the "good" news is that daddy will be at hunting camp this weekend so I should be able to "retrain" the LO)
Frustrating!!

Ah yes, dads do tend to be more relaxed as they want to play with baby and because baby seems happy ;)

Could be a growth spurt too though... there is one at 3 months.  Is LO vomiting any formula up?  That intake is very high...

Amazingly no vomiting!
To clarify the 40oz does include a 3 to 4oz df and a full 5 oz nf at 2 -4am.
So far today he is on track for 36oz.
Since ds has been draining a 5oz bottle we went up to 6oz with bad results!
Seemed to spit up a full half oz. So we give 4oz, burp and offer 2oz more. No spit up so far.
I am hoping that the 6oz will help stretch out times between feeds.
No growth spurt, ds did that last week! Dwindled reserve ebm down to nothing!
This is why I think it is a mis-cue reading.
Bty - should I be offering a full feed at both df and nf??
Todays feedings - 245am, 630 (normal wakeup time), 845, 1130 (good nap!), 300pm, 6pm.
Ds will eat again before bedtime and df at 1030.

This looks good to me :)
