Are pre-midnight NWs always OT?
« on: November 27, 2012, 17:10:30 pm »
We're in the midst of 2-1 and still trying to work out A times after nap. Some nights we've had clearly OT wakings in the first hour after BT, but occasionally she's been completely fine until about 4h after BT, then has a brief cry and self-settles again. I've always assumed these are also OT wakings but could UT at bedtime ever cause that?

For us, pre-midnight NWs are usually teething or illness (start of a cold), sometimes OT (not v often tho).

NWs in the MOTN are pretty much always developmental.

And EWs could be any of the above or UT
DD1 - 8 years old
DD2 - 5 years old

Same here really, when DD was that age NW before midnight were teething or discomfort. OT only really effected DD when she was a young baby or caused EW. Is your LO teething or feeling unwell at the minute?

Teething yes - got some molars on the move which seem to be bothering her on and off. Maybe that would explain it :)

Our OT wakings were generally not too long after BT -- so almost in that first half of the night before midnight if that makes sense?  Teething wakings were generally early ones here, and illness.....well, those are pretty much constant wakings all night ::)  (until I get sick of them and put him in bed with me).  If I remember right, dd1 and dd2 were both the same with the OT wakings.  Dd1 would wake pretty much in the MOTN with teeth, and dd2 was all about EWs with teeth.
