Redirection link doesn't work
« on: November 28, 2012, 23:15:17 pm »
I have noticed that when I move a topic to another board and then go to the original thread, the link for redirection to the post does not work - you get a 404 error.. Help!

Do you have an example thread?

Hey Tom - I just moved a post from Bottle Feeding to BFing...

This is the original topic in Bottle Feeding...

MOVED: 8 month still refuses bottle though tried everything.. what can i do????

The link within it that should take you to the new post in BFing gives an error message...

Yep, that is broken for sure, I will have to look into fixing it.

Thanks for the heads up.

Also, when I do fix it, I will not be able to fix all the existing broken ones, so if you know of any more broken ones, link to them in this thread.

Thanks,

Tom...

There will be quite a few out there cause we move things daily ;)  But don't worry about that - if someone really wants to find the thread, it's not that hard ;)

Thanks Tom!

I just go back and modify the redirection thread and paste a link to the new topic manually.

Unfortunately I posted about this almost 2 months ago moved 2 threads and links to new topics don't work so it has been going on quite a while and as Jaime says that means there will be lots of broken links if others haven't noticed and been updating them. Sorry I didn't notice at the time that you hadn't clocked my thread Tom.
