NW in the evening - OT?
« on: November 29, 2012, 03:08:52 am »
DS will be 1 next week.

For the last couple of nights we've have a NW between 9 and 10 PM. Wondering if it's OT?

I am back to work so I cannot make BT as early as I'd like. His habitual routine is

WU 6AM
Nap 9:30-10:00
Nap 1-2:30 (some days longer)
BT 7

Is this too long of an A time before BT? I usually get home with the kids around 5:30 so it's really hard to make BT before 7...

He's a very happy boy during the day, eats well, drinks well. Might be getting a cold since it's been going around at daycare but no symptoms yet really. I tried pain meds tonight and doesn't seem to make a difference.

So should I try to make BT earlier, say at 6:30 for a few days? If it was discomfort, I'd think that the pain meds would've helped tonight?

I am 100% sure it is not hunger. He does take a bottle of water though, which he never does usually if he's hungry (it really gets him mad if he's hungry and I offer water  ;)). He still has a NF but we've just started diluting it but really too early to make a difference.

Hi again! I don't think it's hunger either Hun. My ds used to do this as well and I wonder it's something developmental. He eventually (mostly ) outgrew it when we stopped all night feeds. And also when he wentto one nap. Even now, he still does this occasionally (beats me as to why.)

Maybe try bt at 6:30 over the weekend and see what happens. I think usually 9-10 that is the time they are in some sort of sleep cycle transition and they might have a tendency to wake up if all is not 100% in baby world! good luck!

Interesting, I didn't think of developmental.  Could be. He surely was tired though, he ended up sleeping 13h last night, which is really rare, usually his nights are 11h. So I'll try earlier BT and see how that works out :)
