What time was wake up? It's usually a good idea to make your day 13 hours with a 2 hour nap.

I'm sure he isn't ready for no nap yet, just be aware that he may be heading in that direction sooner rather than later. We had this big regression at 2 and then got to the stage where she could go for a few days on no nap and then needed to catch up. What eventually happened was that she would still nap but would take forever to fall asleep at bedtime, she was getting the same total sleep on nap or no nap days but her behaviour etc was better for having a longer night than a nap and a shorter night

The problem is that he does not tack on at night because he has terrible EW and NW when he is OT. He was up at 445 am this morning. I want to put him in at 615, but that seems cruel since he just woke up from his nap at 3. Although hes going to mess around forever no matter when I put him in, so it might as well be earlier.

Honestly Hun, IIWM I would stick with the routine for at least a week but probably more. Can I ask what is his personality:

The BW "Know Your Baby Quiz"

I am wondering if he is quite Touchy, and the consistency would serve him well. It seems he needs a chance to reset his clock. Also something to think about is that for some LO's a longer am will over ride a shorter pm, so if you stretch the morning further, he can still have his normal nap but may go down at the same time even though a later wake up.

As he suffers from EW and NW when OT, I think to stick with the 2 hour nap unless you're convinced it isn't working, as it sounds like he could be a LO who needs his sleep spread between a decent nap with a shorter night  :-\.

All if this ^ is just my gut feeling Hun, correct me if I'm wrong, as it's your gut feelings that truly count as you know him best  ;)

(Hugs)

x.

You are definitely right. He is very touchy and we have always protected his sleep very carefully, because when he gets off, he does not get back on track for weeks. We may be starting to get back on track...he only fell asleep at 8 last night, was up from 230-3, but then back to sleep until 530 yay. I then put him in at 11:15 and he was showing a lot of tired signs which I haven't seen in a while! He slept 12-130, so I am hoping he will be just the right amount of tired for a 630 bedtime...

Okay that makes sense Hun. It certainly sounds like you know him well, so well done you  ;).

I hope today is a good one. I guess following his cues could be a good thing for a couple of days, I'm sure you've done it before, and it can help in the short term.  But if it doesn't help, then I suppose it's time to try and stick to a solid routine, rather than have the inconsistency drive you bananas  :P.
