Weaning & milk feeds
« on: January 12, 2013, 18:46:24 pm »
Hi ladies,

I've started weaning my 18wk old due to her reflux. Its helped loads & she loves it. We are now on porridge for breakfast.
She feeds milk every 4hrs. Her 1st bottle is at 8am, then breakfast at 10am...I only give her 2-3 teaspoons. Her next bottle is at 12pm but she is only taking 3-4oz of milk st this feed rather then her normal 5oz. I know the food is suppose to be an addition to her milk so I'm worried about her dropping her oz....any advise?! X

I would make the food an hour after her milk feeds not 2 hours - that should help! Are you giving oats or rice cereal - if it's rice be careful as rice can be hard to digest and cause more problems with the reflux than it helps. I have 2 refluxers - one got a lot worse on solids, and the other one was helped a bit by it!

Thanks for replying Laura, I'll try this tomorrow.
It's just Cow & Gate plain porridge not sure if that's rice or oat?!
