He was over it by 4.30 so I put him to bed at 5.40... I'm a risk taker lol.
LOL, M goes to bed at 5:45 many nights and sometimes as late as 6:15 but never later and he always sleeps until at least 7am. I think it's because he is SO active all day long and never naps anymore unless he isnt feeling well.

I have no idea what is going on in this house!  Not sure if we have molar movement again (all of her 2 yr molars had cut by Jan 1st but are in at varying levels)... We were doing fine with an early bedtime of 630-645pm and getting a wakeup of 7/720am.  Things have gone to pot... two nights with screaming wake ups ~ 1/130am that she is easily resettled with a 2 min snuggle from momma... wake up has crept earlier although her total night hasn't dropped below 12 hrs, she was seriously OS/OT crabby pants today and crashed at 1250pm (she woke at 615am today after a 615pm BT).  She woke on her own at 225pm but wasn't very cheerful until I went to get her up.  Then she was totally awesome all afternoon!  No sign of the 4pm meltdown at all!

BT was a fiasco and a half... PD at 745pm and was up there 3 times as she started the ugly cry!  Rocked her to sleep and she finally has gone down at 835pm... UT or OT??  Or developmentally based?  She is picking up language at an alarming rate right now... could be unable to slow her brain down?

ugh hugs kara. that doesnt sound like fun!! when ds is having meltdowns even after nap days its usually ot...could it be accumulated ot and bt needs to be early even on nap days? pd at 7.45 may have been too late.

for comparison kara ds woke at 7 yesterday. napped 1-3 capped and bt was 8. asleep by 8.15 so just over 13h day. so dyt her day was too long??

any thoughts what i should do today. ds sttn till 6.30 and i went ib and told him it was still dark and hes still asleep!!

should i stick to 12h nnd or shorter in hope that he may have learnt to tack on??!

ok wu was 8.30. woo woo!!!

Sorry kara :( sounds like OT to me. :(  can you give he a long cu nap tomorrow?
Aishi, we do a 10.5/11 hr day on NND but Z is younger, and he tacks. :-\

He was over it by 4.30 so I put him to bed at 5.40... I'm a risk taker lol.

This was her exact routine at 20 months.  She outgrew it ages ago...

She slept 9.5 hrs last night and is relatively fine considering... I really think it will have to be a low key day at home and a really stupid early bedtime... she's just past the nap at all at this point.. it immediately takes away from her night drastically.  I am so glad that she handles OT well.

BAH.

Hugs Kara, It looks like she has some major OT built up. Could you shorten her day a bit to 10.5 hours? That may keep her from getting so OT, or will she not tack on at night? M went through this for awhile where his short nap would shorten his nights then the next day he was tired but still didnt want to nap, so we did sebt after 10 hour day. Then there was the point when after 3 days with nn his night was getting super short so we did ebt after a 9.5 hour day. It took awhile but he got it all straightened out without too much fuss.

I am amazed at how many are doing nn 12 hour days, M has always been low nap needs and very high A time needs, but he is only doing 10.5 hour days from wu to put down, closer to 11- 11.5 hours from wu to sleeping.

I really don't think it is major OT... she didn't sleep less than 12 hrs until the day she had a nap...  we have discovered that the 1am wakeup was outside noise (city winter cleanup).  They didn't do it last night and she slept through without a peep... just woke early...

Alexandra has always needed huge A times to sleep well... remember my kid had a 4 hr A time before bed at 6 months ;)

I am for sure gonna keep today short!  DH won't be home when she goes to bed so she should go down really easy (always does if he isn't here!).  Dad is far too exciting at times LOL.  I can't do a 10hr day - that would be a 4pm BT!  But, I can keep her home and super mellow today easily... will have her in bed for 6/630pm... and might use the car to let her crash for a bit after lunch to get her through!

DD isn't as go-go-go as M is for sure... it's still too cold to be outside here so I can easily keep her low key when needed... I think there will be loads of craft time today!

Mama_C therei a no way Z could do 12 hrs either. He is all energy, then hits a wall after 11 hrs so if I'm quick and he is in his room reading BT books by 10.5/11 max were ok!

Kara, would she do quiet time in her room?

nope - quiet time doesn't fly in her room... but she will sit and watch a movie on the couch!  Watching Ice Age with me right now :)  I love snuggles!

She "helped" me with housework this morning - if nothing else, this house is cleaner than it has been since she was born!

Just wanted to let everyone know... it's 440pm here and this kid is just been a total pleasure today!  Score one for the momma!  Low key day for the win!  Dinner is almost ready... aiming for sleep no later than 615pm.

Congrats Kara, low key with M is impossible. I wish we could do crafts but he is just so full of energy all the time he has to move constantly.

I am the mother of a happy couch potato ::)  Thomas the Train saved the day!

She was asleep at 610pm with a bit of a cheek rub to help her settle in the crib... and now we have sirens as if the place is on fire!  It's 639 so hopefully she is out cold!
