I would be ok with 10 hr nights to but one twin has just always been a horrible sleeper and she has at least two or three nw's a night.  Plus she's just so restless calling for me even in her sleep.  Do you think she's Ot by bedtime?

Difficult to say, if she always was like this... Are they IS? This seems to be key, in my view, to avoid nw at this age...

Aishi, if you think he needs a longer day, then I would try for bt at 6:30 to start with on a nnd. It is going to be difficult to get a real routine going if some days he naps for 1hr20 or longer then some days he doesnt. You did say he gets quiet time on nnds tho right? I think that would be key to keeping him on the best schedule possible. Put him down the same time every day and then adjust bt to whether or not he slept. I agree some of the nw's could be habit now, so in that case unless he cries for you, I would leave him to ss and hope he gets over it and starts sttn again.

gwcarnes, If you want an earlier BT the other option is to cap the nap. Have you tried that? I try to look at things with M as if it were me, if I had a 2hour nap during the day then I know I would be up later at night, but with only a short 30-45 min nap I wouldnt be as rested and I would probably go to bed around the same time, maybe a little later than if I didnt have a nap at all.

Last night went really well. Asleep by 6. Nws 9.30, 12 but i left him cos he was just making noises and he ss. Wu was 6.15!

I pd for nap at 12.50. Asleep by 1.15. I woke him at 2. Think ill see how he does at bt and during the night after a short capped nap as long naps lead to really late bts....cant wait till this 1-0 is over and i can stop tweaking!

With wus being 6 ish im going to stick with 5.45/6 bt on nnds and just hope he tacks on at some point!!

Ps fell asleep at 7.05 after 5 min ss which hopefully means neither ut or ot!

So I hope I don't jinx myself but my horribly sleeping twin has slept 10 hrs the pat two nights with only one cry out each night!  No real nw! I moved nap back to 2:15/2:20 and have bed capping no later than 4 then bed by 8:30 even though she oesnt go to sleep til 9.  But if she will sleep all night I don't care if bt is late!  Fingers crossed after nap works!

Yay! We are the same, 10 h night with the nap and 11-12 without, also for me the important things are 1) no nw and 2) behavior. The rest is only a number, although I have often to remind myself that these numbers are not important when he's happy... ;)

^^  This!  Behaviour is our biggest indicator here... we have finally found a balance.. nap is capped to no longer than 1 hr 30 and nights are average of 11 hrs.
