How did her day look before BT?  Hard to know what could have been the issue without seeing her whole day...

Sorry that makes sense

7:30 up

S. 10:30 - 11:30

S 3:00- 4:30

I only got an hour nao from her for first nap and again this morning.  More A before nap?  I thought 3 hours was quite a bit for her age for nap one.

She was up every sleep cycle because she was OT when BT came... any nap less than 90 mins is not fully restorative so best to reduce your following A time to keep OT under control.

Her first A time might need a bump up... some are fine with 3 hrs or a bit longer.. others are not.  Really the best way to know is how her mood was when she woke up after a one hour nap - was she quite grumpy right away (indicates OT) or was she fine for the first hour after waking and then started to get grumpy (indicates UT).

If she was UT, try adding 10 mins to her first A time for a few days and see if that helps.. remembering to reduce her following A time if she naps less than 1 hr 30 mins (I would reduce following A time down to 2 hrs 45 mins)

Ok I did extend first A by 15.  I got 1 hr and 20.  Would you consider that ok w/o shortening A.  If each sleep cycle is 40 min this would be three cycles.  Where does ten min come out of?  Next sleep cycle?

Thanks

She always wakes up happy and chatting.  Do you think 3.25, 3.5 and 3.5 seems reasonable with full naps.

A sleep cycle is 45 mins, light sleep happens at about 40 mins.  1 hr 20 mins is less than 2 cycles.. you need a 1 hr 30 min nap to get 2 full cycles :)

I would still reduce A time if needed, but you might be fine to push through with a 1 hr 20 min nap...

Do you think 3.25, 3.5 and 3.5 seems reasonable with full naps.

Could be... though I would be mindful of that second A... you might need to keep it at 3.25 like the first.

Thanks trying to push out day as super early BT isn't an option and she keeps getting up at 6.  She woke up happy and carting even though I didnt get down until 7:30.  Long days here.  Thanks about 45 min I always thought 40 fr some reason.  I try to get second nap to 2:30 in order to make a shorter rime until BT.  I keep wondering if I should do set naps at 9:30- 10 and 2:30-30. Be ause bedtime usnt overly flexible.  At what age do you thibk she would be less sensitive to OT.  DS never as these issues.

Sensitivity to OT has more to do with personality than anything... though mine was far less sensitive around 18 months or so...

Up 6:30 (7:00)
Nap 9:45 (10:00)

Normally 1hr and 20. 11:05 (11:20)

2:30 (2:45). This is where I get 40 min and have to resettle

First nap is still too short hun... is she happy when she wakes or still a tired girl?  If she is happy, she is UT, add another bit of A time to the first A...

Second nap is likely OT as first is not a restorative nap and A time is far too long.

Thanks i have stretched out first A a bit and with good results. (1.5) then I give her 3.5 hours and I still get 40 min.  It is so discouraging as tonight willl be bad because of this I suspect.  First nap she always wakes up chatty.  Do you think 3.5 is too long.  She was born July 24 so almost7 months.

I do think that 3.5 is too much for her age.. I would pull back to 3 hrs 15 ;)
