Fed at 6am
« on: February 12, 2013, 09:08:22 am »
Hi,

Not sure if i did the right thing, my LO is 6 months old and has been STTN since 8 weeks. However for the last few weeks she has been waking up at 5 5:30 and not going back to sleep so we have just left her in her cot then got her up just after 6.

Today i decide to feed her in the dark and put her back to sleep, so it was about 6 that i fed her and she went back to sleep until 8:40. do you think that this will just mess her whole day up or do you think it is ok to do this?

Hi hun, I guess a lot would depend on what time you want your day to start? With my LO our day has generally started around 6am, it used to be later but once we got into regular naps I found if I left it much past our normal wake up time it made our naps go a bit off.
You will need to post your EAS routine for the ladies on here to look at for you. EW for us are often OT from rubbish naps or too late BT or if routine needs a tweak.
6 months was a weird age for us with naps etc and your LO could be getting ready to drop a 3rd nap if you still have one!

You might be worth posting something on the naps board or night wakings because your naps aren't very long it's probably affecting the night sleep by being OT, but I'm new to this so can't really help much!
Have you read if A times are appropriate for LO age? Also is teething an issue as naps of 20 mins I was told were discomfort, 30 mins OT and 45-1 hour UT. ( dont take my word I could have remembered it wrong lol) also don't be scared if really early BT like 5pm if naps have been shocking, at 7 months we had loads of 5-5.30 BT with short naps! 4 hr A time is way too long for LO at that age especially after such a short nap, and 2.40 hr is pushing it too with only short nap! At 9 months my LO only has 3 hr A to BT after 1 hr nap!
There is some good threads about 3-2 nap transition that might be worth a read.
I'm sorry I'm not much help, just wanted to reply as been there with my LO and I remember spending loads of time playing with A times and trying to extend naps!!

Fingers crossed someone more knowledgable will jump in for you :-)

Poor bubs and you, teething is the pits! We've only just got 3 teeth at 9 months...!
Hope you get some advice :-)
