when to start feeding? use weeks or months?
« on: February 24, 2013, 16:21:10 pm »
Hi, I am just wondering when discussing starting to feed is it 6 months or 24 weeks.

My DS is 24 weeks on 17th March but by date won't be 6 months until 30th March which is 2 weeks later. Which is correct?

I don't think it matters whether or not you use weeks or months.  At this point in time, it would be more important to assess his readiness for starting solids.

Can sit well enough to swallow food
Is interested when you are eating
Has lost the tongue thrust reflex
Is having the gs and milk isn't enough

^^  Agree with PP to watch for readiness cues more than watch the calendar, but if you need a proper answer, use months.
