How much solids is too much?
« on: February 26, 2013, 16:00:40 pm »
My LO LOVES his solids!!! He will finish everything and anything I give him no matter how much it is. He started finger foods about a month ago so I was making a bit more than needed considering he was dropping a lot but the last week or so he has become pretty good at it and is eating most of it and there isn't too much that ends up on the floor. He polishes it all off and makes me think he is still hungry but I feel like he is eating a lot! How do I know what amount is enough when I have a baby that never stops?

I wouldn't worry - let him eat ;)  Babies are great at regulating how much to eat and what to eat.. your job is to offer a balance of foods, his job is to decide what and how much to eat.

So long as he is still getting some milk in the way of formula or BFing, no worries.  Should be 3-4 BFs at this age or if using formula, aim for no less than 20ozs per day (remembering that things like cheese/yogurt etc do count towards milk intake).
