Hey there ladies,

We're back - this time with EW (historically as many of you know our problem had been NW). DD has suddenly taken to doing a 10h night which is historically a sign if her being OT and I am desperate to nip it in the bud before we get caught up in the spiral of months of sleep deprivation as we did with the NWs.

Nothing I can see has really changed, though those pesky cainines still are to put in an appearance!! She was doing a 12h night, 2h/2h15m nap (with a 12h day) then 4/5days ago the night dropped to 11h, not ideal but I could live with a 6am start. I did leave BT at 7pm (with set nap at 12.30) incase 13h day made a difference (hasn't historically worked for us) - it made no difference. In fact things got worse, she started doing a 10h night.

Last night I put her to bed 6.45 (usual BT 7pm) - a long day granted given she was awake at 4.40/45 but BT at 6.30 just led to a 4.40/45 WU so I figured in for a penny. It made no difference she was awake at 5.10am this morning.

What's going on? Is she OT? Is it developmental? Teeth?

Any thoughts? Please help  ::)

Many thanks in advance xx

Why don't you try the nap a bit earlier and then bedtime at 6 for a week and see how it goes? She may need the nap earlier because of the earlier wakeup and then you should be able to make bedtime earlier.

What do you think?

Thanks for your reply Laura. I did wonder whether to do
That but the potential of a 4am start scared me out of my ruts so
I chickened out. Instead I tried a far nap for 20m and then nap 2h later (for 2h). Also, I gave her meds before bed, 4hours later and she happen to wake at 2.55 so then as well and she slept 12h.

Last night she had her usual 2h15m nap and bed at 6.45 (definitely tired- asleep by 6.50) - she did have a bit if a natter around midnight but no meds last night. It's 6am and it sounds as though touch wood she's still asleep. It was me wide awake at 5am (groan!).

I'm hoping that things are in a turn about - I guess it's just a matter of watching this space! Xx

Hi Becky,

Thanks for checking in, really appreciate it. I havent posted because i feel like im o
Always here with oneissue or another! The EW are not as early but the last few night there's been a pattern of CO at 10.30pm and 3am(ish). Last night she was awke from 3.30-4.30 - playing, chatting etc. I did give her meds last night. Anyway she then WU at 6.55am. So all in all an 11h night if you account for the 1h NW. Her nappy this morning was horrendous though, so maybe teeth.

She's definitely not OT anymore so I'm thinking either teeth or i need to cut the nap down to 2h (currently 2h15m) - would an extra 15m disrupt the night?

Any/all thoughts appreciate xxx

Ps - have things settled down in your camp?
AND more importantly, Happy Mother's Day x

**Update** last night was pretty rubbish. She had 2h15m nap at the usual time but bed a bit later as the day ran away with us - ptb@7.15pm - chatted and played until 7.30. CO@10.15 (meds). She then woke@2.15(meds again) and was either awake or CO in her sleep until nearly 3.30!  No laughing and playing like the night before and then WU@6.05am - so basically all over the place!!!!
