I just used to see what naps we got each day and if one was short I would offer an EBT. Mine often didn't/ don't yawn until I am zipping up the sleeping bag but will have other signs. Things like rubbing their hair/head, pulling their ears, being grizzly or laying their heads on me, red or watery eyes or red cheeks and asking to nurse are all regular signals I need to get them to sleep ASAP.

Thanks!

How early can I do an EBT? Is one hour too much? Today my LO woke up at 6:00 (yupi!) but slept for 30 min + 1h30 and as the last nap ended at 13:40 I went for EBT. He didn't want to CN and I didn't fight for it, cause he didn't seem sleepy at all. In the evening he was asleep already at 18:00 (it took him 10 min! he was really tired, I guess). I wonder, if that could be too early... normally he falls asleep at 19:00. I guess I will find out tomorrow, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for 6:00 am :)

Ebt at 6 is about right I would say. I know some people have done it at 5 if their LO has had a really rubbish day of naps but I never braved it that early myself. Fingers crossed for a good night.

It went well!!! :) we had two days in a row like this:
6:00 WU
9:00 - 9:30 Nap 1
12:00 - 13:30 Nap 2
18:00 EBT

LO sleeps 12h and it seems as it's working (he was usually  sleeping 11h at night) so I guess this 1h extra is making up for the short nap. I can't change it dough, cause at daycare they sleep from 12:00 and if he gets a decent nap there, then I can do EBT at home... I suppose, that he will self start to delay BT with time, right?

Thanks again for all your help! You are incredible here! I love this website :)

Yes I would stick with this routine while it is working and you are constrained to that early second nap by daycare. He will start to be able to go to bed later over the next couple months as he moves towards the 2-1 nap transition.
