I wondered about teeth and if reflux is an issue both together could be causing issues.

I agree with mashi. Rosa dropped from 25th to 5th at 7 months and then stayed there. No one was concerned at all x

Oh yes, centiles - DS was 75th for weight at 10 months and is now below the 4th centile - that's no an issue either apparently ::) ::) Drs only seem to worry about centiles when it suits them.

Yes, my DD dropped a few centimes around this age too. As she looked healthy no-one was worried. My froend's DS is 10th centile and seems tiny next to my 91st centile DD and mum was worried about how little he was eating/drinking. So worried they took him to see a dietician, who reassured them and pointed out that a smaller child needs quite a bit less than a bigger one to keep them going.

We always had additional trouble with milk fees around teething and/or reflux flare-ups.

When we dropped to 3 bottle feeds we had a really hard time getting our DS to take 8oz in each too - we went to 3 bottles around 8.5 months.  I was SO stressed about it all the time because he was only getting about 16oz/day, but he seemed perfectly fine...content, happy, not hungry.  Eventually over time he did increase and now he does about 8-9oz for each feed.

I don't have much advice other than for us, he did increase his intake over time :)

Thanks all. His reflux seems fine. He's very gassy though which i think contributes to the eating issues. He's 19lbs, has been on 10mg zegerid 2x a day since 4months old. Do you think he would need an increase all of a sudden?

If the 1 yr molars are coming early that could definitely cause bottle fussiness and reflux flaring.
Also your in or close too wonder week 46 (boo) both my kids eat silly when in them. Here a blog on it

It could be that although the overall dose is a good one the individual doses aren't enough by themselves. Children often do better when a PPI is split but if the half doses aren't enough it doesn't work as well. If he is teething as well that will have am impact too.

I wonder if it's worth talking to your Dr about doses  - if they were willing it may be worth giving the PPI in one dose either morning or night. If you were giving it in one dose they may be willing to add zantac in and see if that makes a difference. Kind of depends how you feel about adding other meds in for a trial really - assuming your Dr would consider that too!

Thanks, we tried zantac it never worked and I'm really not wanting to add more meds.  I can try the one dose and see how that works? He was teething but stopped a few days ago. However his molars might bhe coming in early he wont let me in his mouth to check.

Make sure you check with your Dr before you change meds around!
