How much solids should my 7 months old be eating
« on: March 12, 2013, 17:31:41 pm »
How much solids should my 7 months old LO be eating, we started weaning at 4 months so she has been eating for quite a while. At the monent she has the following

7:00   6oz formual
8:00   1tbsp porridge with 1 ice cube fruit (or a yoghurt mixed in instead)
11:00 6oz formula
12:00 1 ice cube meat and 1 ice cube veg, then sometimes a yoghurt
15:00 6oz formula
16:00 2 ice cubes pasta. or 1 ice cube meat and 1 ice cube veg
18:30 7oz formula

She would probably eat more solids but i don't giver her it. Should i just let her have more i.e 3 or 4 ice cubes or maybe a pudding after dinner, when do i drop a bottle for snacks.

Thanks

My beautiful spirited little angel

Most formula fed babies drop to 3 bottles around 10 months, some a little earlier. It's not really swapping a bottle for a snack because you change the timing of bottles to do one on wake up, after lunch pre-pm nap and then bedtime.

If she is looking for more then let her have some just make sure it doesn't make her milk intake drop, if it does reduce the solids a bit. If you aren't giving finger foods yet I would start giving her things she can eat herself. Have a look at the baby led weaning posts for help, we gave things like toast fingers and steamed or roasted vegetable strips.
