Dropping the 3am feed?!!!
« on: March 14, 2013, 05:10:57 am »
Hi,
Not sure if I have done this right, as am new to forum. I am a mummy to 2 girls, Evie is 4 and a BW Angel Baby, followed easy to a tee. BF for 3 months
Florence is 8 weeks and is EBF, done Easy from the start.
Have some questions: She has followed easy from the start, last feed at 7pm, dream feed at 11:15pm (which I have to wake her for) and she wakes 3am to 330am for a feed. Then wakes 7am to feed and start the day.
Recently she has gone until 5am for feed, but my question is this: if she feeds at 5am it sends my day all over the place, in terms of 7,10,1 etc, when do I do next feed after 5am? Is this a sign she is dropping the night feed?
Also, having probs getting her to nap in her cot, will nap in pram or on sofa. She's not self soothing, so put her in her cot when she's asleep? Any tips? Thanks in advance xx

It is natural for the NFs to move later but then earlier again at times of growth spurts and developmental stages. Many LOs start waking in the night again around 4mo. She is doing really well so I would just offer her next BF at 7 when she wakes for the day and see if she is hungry for it. If she isn't maybe try half an hour later or so.

Regarding napping in the cot, you can try shh pat to get her to sleep or even do shh pat in your arms and then work on putting her down slightly more awake each time. Again tjough she is so young it is natural for her to need help getting to sleep.
