T has been having a flare up this last week and I couldn't work out why. ... Go figure, the ONLY jar food I give him has milk solids in it. ::) how did I even not check ::) ::) (baby rice and prunes from 4 mths)

He has only had it for breakfast while my pears ripen up so I can make my own. Had it for about 4/5 days.

So ... Now I know, how long should I expect the reflux symptoms to last?

Not useless at all! Why would you expect baby rice and prunes to have mk in it! Very easily done and have done it myself more than once!

Do up know what is interesting though. I always thought his head being really sweaty was part of his bodies way of coping with pain - reflux and tummy. Ped disregarded it. Now I know. Last week or so he has been so so sweaty at night. Like dripping off his head. And it's the coolest it has been here in ages. :(

Could be unrelated...could not be. My Dr (not ped) did say at increased sweating is one of the bodies way of coping with pain though.

Honestly, what a useless mother I am !

PLEASE don't feel that way!  it takes a looooong time to get used to reading EVERY label and to not have slipups.  seriously, at this point just take it one meal at a time and pat yourself on the back for getting through another day dairy/soy free!

FWIW, my DS is 2, been dairy/soy/gluten free for almost a year now, and it took me 6 months before i was feeding him "perfectly." and, just yesterday, i told DH to give DS a fruit pouch (squeezable baby food) as a treat and instead gave him big sister's YOGURT pouch.  and the pouch even says YOGURT on the front of it.  so yup, DS had milk yesterday and yup, 4 hours later had horridly soft stool.  my DH is a lawyer - he usually reads everything LOL.  so...sh*t happens.  as long as it is not an anaphylactic or systemic reaction, it WILL be ok and you and DS will move on.
