Snacking
« on: April 03, 2013, 08:10:27 am »
Not sure if I have a snacker or am being impatient with my 12 week old Ds.  He just can not get to sleep longer in he night.

He has gone 3 hours between feeds since the day he was born taking 90ml a feed.  He weighs 15lb

Now he just won't take anymore than 90ml - 120ml (if we are lucky) and I think that it's stopping him from going those extra hours in the night as I just can't get enough into him during the day.  He is dream fed and no longer cluster fed

Last week I put him on Fastflow teats and he is still the same

With him being a big baby do I try and stretch him longer between feeds so he takes more?

Thanks

He should be taking around 5 ozs per feed at this age ~150mls

How is he when he does take a feed?  Happy/fussy?

Using a teat that is too fast for his age will just cause excess gas so I would stick to a slower/medium flow for now...   How long does it take him to finish a feed?

Ideally, we would want a feed to be finished in 20 mins or less.
