How to Eliminate Habitual Waking?
« on: April 09, 2013, 09:45:37 am »
DS is 3 months now and has been waking every night after 7/7.5 hrs of sleep.  Once he is fed and put back in his crib, he sleeps until 8/8:30am.  Is this a habitual waking since it occurs at almost the same time every night so far?  He's done it for the past 3 nights (prior to that, he was waking every 3-4 hours).

Is there something I should be doing or will he eventually lengthen the 7/7.5 hours of sleep?  I just want to make sure I'm not reinforcing the NW.  He complains and whines when he wakes and does this on/off until I go feed him after 15 minutes.  If he is crying, I go to him right away, but he usually complains for 10-15 and then works himself into a cry.  I know he's hungry since ti's been 7.5+ hours since the last fee, but, I just to make sure it's the not doing any AP since the time is almost the exact same time every night and could be habitual.

Any advice would be appreciated.

At 3 months just feed him at that time. It's most likely to be hunger after that long rather than habitual.
