Struggling with 2-1 transition/EW routine
« on: April 16, 2013, 13:57:59 pm »
Hi

Our routine has just gone!

He used to have an hour nap am and 2hr nap pm,but he started waking at 45!!! And now we're having early starts too! I'm not sure where to go with it!

Was trying to cap first nap to keep second but it's just not working, well it did for a bit-not now
With these early wakings I'm at a loss

When he wakes at 5:20 do I put him down 4 hours later?

Today he was up at 5-we were out and about and he fell asleep 10:15 for 40 mins so I put him back down at 2-thinking the first nap was shorter etc and he woke screaming at 45min again-is this UT? Or OT
Been doing 6:30 bedtime to compensate his EW and short naps but not sure what to try next?!

He's always been short with A times btw

Thank you for any tips!

Hi,

Before we was
Wake 6:30/7
10nap 1 hr
11:30 lunch
2 nap 1.5-2hrs
5 tea
6.20 bath etc
7 bed

Thank you, I'm guessing his A times need pushing-I'd like to keep BT as close to 7 as poss as his bother goes down then and it's easier on my own getting both down at same time!

Thank you

I'd actually keep his morning nap at the same time but cut it shorter, maybe 30 mins, then do another nap maybe 3hrs after.

Today he woke at 6 :) and I put him down at 10-went out like a light, screaming after 45 again?? He did have one bright red swollen cheek-teething hasn't pushed him back to the 45min nap before-now not sure when to put him down again-2? 3.15 later as 45min isn't a restorative nap??

I'd definitely give meds before pm nap, sounds like they're hurting him. If he slept 10-10.45 I'd probably put him down to be asleep by 2pm.

Great! Thank you, will med him up and get take him up at 10 to! He used to to do 2 good hours pm so we'll see! If he wakes after 45-would you say he's UT OT or just mixed up! Lol then would you do early BT? Thank you x

I'd wait and see how the nap goes. If it's a short one then early bed for sure but hopefully he will do a good one for you.

Woke bang on 45! Why! I have started giving him a dummy this week to help him extend naps-is he waiting for that? He doesn't have it to settle! I don't understand what's changed

Yikes, that's not good! Maybe he needed a little more A time? What's his temperament/personality? Does he generally handle OT well?

He's super happy! Cried big time after 45 tho was a little unhappy then cheery again-6:30 BT-I just don't understand what's changed? Was happily doing 2-4pm after 3hrs a time not long ago! He's angel/textbook I guess-good as gold. At BT naps just rolls over and goes to sleep etc. so confused :/

Yeh I expect so. You know there's a 2-1 support thread going at the top of this board? Have you tried a one nap day to see how it goes? FX you have a peaceful rest of the night.
