Fussy feeding is back. What do you think?
« on: April 21, 2013, 08:21:02 am »
We're going through a fussy period again but I can't work out why. :-\

T is on var flow teats and over time they stretch and end up being bigger. I replaced them with new ones which are smaller as he was fussy thinking maybe he was getting too much too quick. Alas the fussiness is still there, and now it's like he's angry at the slower flow?

I don't know what do do with him really. ATM I'm getting 1-2 oz then battling with him for another 1-2 over the next 30 mins. Sometimes he takes 1 oz after his solids.
Feeds are ~4-4.5 hrs apart accept pm and bt closer. He is now feeding well at BT though 6oz. Ironic really as he used to refuse the BT feed.

Any ideas on what is going on or tips to help him feed better? - I don't see any obvious refluxing. But he does get bouts of constipation

Constipation will for sure put them off food, but I found it to be solids that would go first, then milk.

Have you tried a med/fast flow instead of the variflow?  Now that he is older, he might like it better...

Not sure tbh... Variflow is controlled by baby but fast flow will drip fairly quickly on it's own... maybe worth a try?
