Due to our creaky noisy house, our little boy gets when Daddy leaves for work every morning between 5 and 6. His bedroom is about as far away from ours as it can be but still he's getting disturbed. Anyone had the same problem and solved it? At 14 months, he's a bit young to understand the concept of a gro-clock.

Thanks everyone! xxx  :-*

Do you know what it is waking him? Is it the alarm, the shower, the front door closing or actually the creaky floor boards?

Not sure, I think it's just general movement about the house. The alarm is a vibrating one so don't think he can hear it. Sometimes he wakes up straight away and other times maybe 15-30 mins after Daddy has left, as though it disturbed him enough to lighten his sleep, then he took a while to come round.

Liking the white noise idea, thanks! Katie80 suggested a desk fan.

Yes any kind of white noise would help. My DH went through a phase of getting showered and night and then in the morning he could just get dressed and creep out. I would sometimes go down and shut the front door silently behind him if I was awake.

Thanks,  ;D yes Daddy has his showers at night and all he does is have a 10 min cuppa then leave the house, so it's hard for him to be any less noisy, but I think A has had quite a bit of sleep by that point so can't manage to drop off once he's been disturbed. Might try the desk fan idea. Failing that, maybe we should move little fella to the attic bedroom!!!

If the desk fan isn't loud enough you can buy or download mp3 tracks. My kids share a room and sleep with a 'tumbledrier' track on repeat.
