BT bottle - to bring back or not...
« on: June 22, 2013, 07:28:52 am »
Hi All,

Just a quick question - our DS (17 months old) is now on one bottle - BT, 200ml.  He is just coming through a nasty vomiting/tummy bug and hasn't had his BT bottle the last 3 days because it basically came straight up again when he was sick.  He has just been eating the BRAT diet the past few days and has gone to bed fine without his bottle.  Just wondering when he is well again should we reintroduce it or if he's fine without it just leave it.  When he is well he eats lots of yoghurt, custard so think he will still get his dairy requirements that way.  He's not keen on milk out of a sippy.  How much milk should he have at this age.  He is a bit of a picky eater but tends to eat a good breakfast and lunch, dinner can be a bit hit and miss.

I would just leave it really! We did the same thing with my DS when he was 2.5, he had a bad cough and coughed up the bedtime bottle 2 days in a row so we stopped and didn't give it back!

From 1-2 they need around 12oz of dairy to get thier needs met so if he is having plenty of dairy from foods he is probably getting what he needs. You can keep offering milk in a sippy, chances are he will drink more eventually!

Thanks for your input - we have left it and not looking for it - nearly a week now.  Now just have to start another thread about battles at dinner time lol.
