5 1/2 month old....Longer A time??
« on: May 09, 2013, 21:23:24 pm »
I have a five and a half month old who in the last two three weeks has become a beast! I had her A time at 2 hours and 20 minutes to 2 hours and 30 minutes and she was having two naps a day, one three hour one and one two hour one. Night sleep was ok and she was eating every 4 hours. Now she is fussy when going down for naps and sometimes wakes at the 45 min mark and has to be resettled. Sometimes she naps for 1 1/2 hours and sometimes for 2 or 3. She also now randomly wakes at 5 to 5:30 in the morning and I feed her then and she used to go back to sleep, but sometimes now she sometimes stays awake for an hour or more before going back to sleep. Sometimes she seems uncomfortable in the night and she is often super fussy during the day lately.
All these signs  point to needing a longer A time according to the FAQ's, but we are at the top of our A time for this age anyway. Any clues what might be going on here?

Sorry your post was missed, I am going to ask to move to the EASY board :).
It does sound to me (mainly because of the 45min naps) that she could do with a wee bit more A time, even just 10min. You are right, she is a bit high on her A, but some babies are.
Just as a side note, I wouldn't let her nap more than 2h at this age IIWY because it could steal from her night sleep and contribute to EW as well.
HTT.
