Well, DS was super excited when he saw the tent. I let him get used to it at home. I told him that he would be sleeping in there in our holiday. So he got the idea what it was for, i let him choose which softtoys to bring and which pillow/blanket. It is really handy, as it folds into really small flat thing and much lighter than a pack n play, that travel cot.
Katy, usually the travel cot/pack n play has a zipper opening, like a little tunnel that LOs an climb in and out safely as it is very close to the floor. Even though it is 120cm long like a cot, DS just wouldnt fit it anymore. That's why he had to go into BBB despite my wish to keep him in the cot till he is 5! Lol. DS uses an adult sized pillow, so perhaps that doesnt help! The pop up tent we have comes with a air mattress and a sleeping bag exactly the shape of the bottom of the tent. It has windows also that an roll up for air or close to minimize distraction.
