6 week old who spits up a lot, A after E = big mess

Started out on a pretty good routine of EASY and then around 3 weeks DD2 began spitting up. Now routine is to do A before E, but as a result BF to sleep.  Any suggestions on how to correct this?

My son has bad reflux and we also had this issue. At 6 weeks I gave up on EASY and bf to sleep every time. Now at 6 months he is on meds for the reflux and we are slowly implementing EASY. It has made it very hard because I'm now trying to wean him off nursing to sleep, so that other people can get him to sleep for them too. My suggestion would be if the spitting up is bad see a doctor about reflux meds, if its not that bad, see if you can ease him into the A time, keep jiggling and tummy time to a minimum directly after E and cope with the mess and stick with an EASY routine to save yourself an extra hurdle later on x

Have you tried just feeding on wakeup?

Mine has reflux and our A after eating is holding him up for at least 10 minutes while dancing, or walking him around the house labeling things...something like that. That works pretty well for us. I squeeze in tummy time right after waking up (if he isn't hungry- he's a short napper) or just before sleep time.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've got a stack of cloths ready for cleaning up, we'll switch back and see how it goes.

Is the spit up causing discomfort? - if not then smaller feeds can help a little more frequently, or possibly a thickener or infant Gaviscon can help if LO is loosing weight or spitting up large amounts x
