You can always try and if baby is not interested try again when an hour or so has elapsed.  The idea is to allow baby time to get a bit hungry.  It'll all be very hit and miss for the first couple of weeks or months anyway.

Yeah.  Just see how it goes but remember at that age, milk is still important.  You don't want your child to start dropping feeds too quickly but you could also make up the rice with BM.

Have you tried baby rice though?  It does ming and there's actually no reason to use it after 6 months.  Personally I'd be tempted to try some ready brek once your LO is 6 months old.
Here's my blog which is focussed on simple food for babies, toddlers and families http://mamacook.blogspot.com/

we've been 4 days on rice cereal and well... he isnt really enjoying it... at all!  i barely get one bit out of him then all other attempts its locked lips.  didn't think a 6 month old could lock up, LOL

tomorrow we are going to try avocado :)  yummy - at least i think so. :)
hopefully we have some more success.

oh and he's been drinking a TON of BM  our oz's went up from 30-32 up to 36-38!
I still have the DF and a NF
wondering when we'll loose the NF - if ever :/

thanks
