Toddler with Red cheeks and ears
« on: May 26, 2013, 07:14:48 am »
Jenn this may be better in FA as I am suspecting this may be the problem :-\

Z seems to have red cheeks and ears on and off...but he has all his teeth now! So it's not 'teething '
He seems unsettled when it flares, and I have noticed his eyes get a little bloodshot.

Anyone else's toddler had this? - possible allergy? :-\ I'm going to start a log ...

Not very medical but not a bit of sun burn?

M has had that a lot... I had a post about it too, I'll try to find it after and post it here for your info.

I really believe in M's case it was a food sensitivity. I log everything but I was not able to find exactly what it was, and it seems to have gone away. He still gets it on and off but less frequently now.

Spencer used to be allergic to egg, and this is what happened, except she turned red from head to toe! also, both my kids were mpi and would get red cheeks from dairy until I figured it out.

He often gets them after a nap (wakes up with it) I'm also wondering dairy Heidi...he never seemed to have a problem with it earlier though?.

Lol BB I wish there was enough sun and heat right now to get sub burnt at all ;)

Just being mindful of what he's eating hasn't helped me figure it out either :-\ I wondered about sugar :-\

Dyes in food?  Spencer also gets red when she is warm, so it could just be that after a nap too.

But he gets it other times too... He is very fair though so I guess it 'could' be anything.
I might ask our dr for a scratch test

Ok Hun thanks. I've tried to curb his diet a touch...and he is better than he was...so I'm wondering if he is sensitive to something that is rubbish really. (We are terribly guilty of giving him bad snacks since Thomas got bad. We were jus so desperate!)
I've cut out completely those toddler corn chip things (even though they say they have no this and that) also no more biscuits or chocolate at all (crackers instead) - it sounds bad doesn't it but when I say choc I mean in the biscuits, or in a cake (mmm even worse!)

So I'm thinking maybe sugar, phenols or something like that may be the issue. :-\

Yeah I guess make it as natural as possible. We have loads of things over here that i make sure we have stacks of for Olly.

You get those dried fruit strips don't you? Trying to think of the name but totally forgotten!
