Where am I going wrong? 9 month old
« on: May 30, 2013, 04:55:26 am »
Hi,

Can someone please advise me what I'm doing wrong.

My LO is 9 months (& 11 days to be exact). He was a very good sleeper in the early days but it all went wonky at about 6 months.

Up until 2 nights ago, he was waking EVERY night, anywhere between 2-4am & staying awake for between 30 mins to 2 hours. I used shush pat (well without the pat because that seemed to wake him).
The past two nights he has slept through but awake at 5:10am & then 4:50am this morning. I'm not sure which I prefer!!

He has no problem getting to sleep during the day, I pop him in his cot & walk straight out & within 5 mins he's asleep. He's a big boy, between the 98-99th percentile so I wonder if he's waking because he's hungry.
At 8 months he weighed 24lb 10 1/2 ounces..So he does love his food!

I'm starting to really struggle now with the tiredness because my hubby works away, have no family near by & we also have a just turned two year old.
Ok enough waffle, our routine looks like this:

No matter what time he wakes I try not to feed him before 6:30am so...

E 06:30 wake & 260ml
07:30-08:00 breakfast (1.5 weetabix/porridge or 1 x banana) followed by 1 x toast
S 09:45 S for 1-1.5 hour sometimesi I wake him after 1.5 hrs, sometimes he wakes after 1 hour

E 11-11::15 200ml
12:30 lunch
S 2-2:30pm for 1.5 hours

E 4pm dinner
6:45pm bath 240ml
7-7:15pm sleep

Sorry this is a bit sketchy & not exact times but just to say, he has an activity time of 3hrs 15mins & 2 x daytime naps 1hr-1.5 hr & afternoon nap is always 1.5 hrs.

Many thanks for any tips/advice x

Your EASY looks ok actually :) long early morning NWs for us were usually discomfort/development/UT. He doesn't seem particularly UT and with development there's not necessarily a lot you can do but ride it out.

Is there any chance he's teething or suffering with any other pain? Are you noticing any developmental changes? Any SA?
