Probably an obvious question but can I check pls...
« on: June 03, 2013, 18:30:31 pm »
My 13 month old son has been in bed for the last hour and has been throwing his comforter out, babbling, walking up and down the bars, screaming and generally being a very wide awake monkey (bath at 6.15pm, bottle then bed by 7pm for those not on gmt time!)

So.....obviously he's not tired enough for sleep so should I just bite the bullet and lose his 30 min morning catnap? Is that what he's telling me? Today our easy was like this

WU -5.50am
S-9am to 9.30am
S-1pm to 3.30pm (he did wake up upset at about 2.15pm but I gave him the bottle he refused before bed and he went back off again-that's not that normal) I had to wake him at 3.30pm too!

So I'm thinking just cut out the 9am and keep him occupied till about 11am and then put him down-sound like a good plan?

What about 'capping' his long nap at 2 hours?  Would give him 4h A time before bed and he might settle better?

Yeah that's another good idea. Trouble is he's so grumpy cos of it but I might just have to plan to take him out every afternoon to distract and cope with it!

Yeah I'd cut the am nap and see how he copes on 1 long nap starting 4.5/5 hrs after WU... If you get an OT short one you will need to do a second though ;)

Right - that's the plan for the next few days then! Fingers crossed it works!
