Thanks for all the  messages. James is back in school today and the staff know to keep a close eye on him as he is at more risk of reacting to things for the next few days at least. I am doing ok, it was hard yesterday but at last we know we are not avoiding dairy for no reason. It is now time to move on and prepare for a lengthy baked milk challenge that will start on August or September assuming he passes the first stage.

Hugs Kellyx why are they thinking of a baked milk challenge if he had an ana reaction yesterday? Olly has never had a reaction like that. He has now been downgraded to MPI from a true allergy but he still reacts to baked milk!

It starts of with a mcvities digestive biscuit that only has a very tiny amount of baked milk in it. It is also to do with the amount of time the product is baked for as the longer it is baked the more it changes the proteins. They also took a blood sample yesterday to find out which one of the proteins it is in milk that James reacts to. It will gradually move on to things that contain more baked milk if he passes the first stage. It is a very gradual process and it is possible if James can tolerate this process that it will help him outgrow his allergy.

That is such a slow process, but fantastic he has that option to go through to help him outgrow the allergy.

In the meantime (((hugs))) to you both x
