Unfortunately daiya products don't seem to be available in the UK unless there is a special dietary web company that stocks them.

That's too bad!

F reacts just as strongly to goats milk as cow, seems ok with sheep's cheese but then she can tolerate a bit of normal cheese now anyway so I probably wouldn't notice tbh.

for this month we will avoid sheep/goats produce. I managed to find some non dairy cheese so that's good and some dairy free biscuits. I have decided for this 1 month not to worry too much about using soya as an alternative but if we find that we are staying off dairy I will work on it.

Glad you've found some foods  ;D

Re: soya, its proteins can cause a similar reaction to cow's milk proteins so I'd avoid that for a month as well. If he improves you can try adding soya in then, but his gut needs to heal from all possible allergens first  :-*

I was actually going to say the same  :-\. It does seem odd that he didn't say to cut out soy too since it often affects mpi kids. I would just hate for you to get to the end of the month and it've not been conclusive leaving you having to do a dairy *and* soy trial for another month  :-\.  not trying to argue though  :)

the thing is I really don't think he is dairy intolerant. He was fine as a baby, guzzled formula absolutely fine and no issues at all until about 2 months after M was born. I really think if it was a true dairy issue we would have seen problems leading before the age of 3. I am really doing this as the next step because the Dr's have asked me to but I do take on board what you are saying.

I developed a soya intolerance in my late 20s  :(

Food intolerance can happen at any age unfortunately  :'(

Not trying to argue with your doctor, it's just that if they suspect dietary causes, then a proper elimination diet is usually the next step...
