blisters, ouch

What do I do?

Have big painful blisters on one nipple, think due to the combination of E's shiny new front teeth and her non-stop wriggling. She's hanging off there, kicking her feet and clamped on with her teeth.  Ouch.  I have a multi-mam compress on there at the moment, anything else?  Just leave them to heal?

Are we talking milk blisters?  If so, lots of hints and tips for dealing with them here - http://kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mother/nipplebleb/
If a friction blister, then here - http://kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mother/nipplehealing/

If it is only from her teeth rubbing, if it were me, I'd keep going with the pain relief techniques (whether analgesia or cold compresses - or both!) and maybe try a different hold to take the pressure off the injured part of the nipple to give it a bit of a chance to heal.

Hi folks, thanks for your concern.  The blisters themselves are gone but still sore.  Healing well enough since she's 13 months so there's a break from feeding overnight and for a good portion of the day.  Even when they were at the worst though I found those multi-mam compresses immediately made it feel better, no soreness when I had them one, and could leave them on all day, so that really helped and, I think, sped up the healing process.

Thanks again.
