So pleased for you Nicola, great work! We were weighed on day 4 (which, given the timings, you could have argued was still day 3) and he's lost so much because my milk wasn't in. I was devastated. However the next day my milk was in and he'd put it all back on and if he'd been weighed then instead of the day before we'd have had barely any weight loss at all. It was so frustrating, goodness knows why they weigh so early here.

Keep going :)
Catherine x

So pleased for you Nicola!
Here Emma and Oscar were weighed 12-hrly in the hospital. Totally wanted to throw the scales out the window or better still, at the silly nurses! Had to sign myself out at 48 hrs as Emma had not regained her birth weight. Like I was really going to hang around for that to happen!

I found that ds couldn't ever make it through a feed at that age without falling asleep as it tired him out, so he was constantly feeding to sleep (and nursed to sleep at night for 16 months) and it didn't mess with his sleep.  :)

Absolutely snuggle, cuddle and feed to sleep.  You will remember it but she won't!!  :))

For my DS first 24 HRs he did not seem to be very hungry, he was still good on supply from the belly i guess, then he did start eating every 2 hours, is very normal the first days and it will settle when milk supply comes in and gets going. What i did was talk to him a lot during the day and made noght feeding a litlte more boring so he would see a diference between day and night. To get her going stoke her cheak and her jaw, then they remember what their supose to do, remember this is a huge task for baby to accomplish,

hang in there and best of luck
