How do you lengthen naps?

My LO is 9 months. He used to take 1.5-2 hour morning nap and 1.25-1.5 afternoon nap. Now it's 1 hour to 1.25 hours for both morning and afternoon nap. He sleeps 11-12 hours at night. I've tried stretching his A times but it doesn't make a difference. Our EASY looks like this:

6/6:30 wake up
9:30/10am 1st nap (sleeps 1 hour to 1.25 hours)
2/2:30pm 2nd nap (sleeps 1 hour to 1.25 hours)
6:30/7 bed time

I'm wondering if this is the start of 2-1 transition. Should i be capping the morning nap to extend the afternoon one? I have a 26 month old as well who naps from 1-3pm so it'd be nice to have the naps coincide :)

def sounds like the start of the 2:1 transition. I did short am/long pm with both of mine and it worked well. I would start by capping the am to 45 mins and take it from there.

If he slept from 9:30-10:15 or 10-10:45, what time would you do the 2nd pm nap? Would 1pm or 1:30pm work do you think? The only thing I'm worried about in doing this transition is the wake ups during the 2nd nap. There is the odd time that he hasn't slept much at all in the morning because we were out, and then his pm nap is very broken and unsettled. My DD sleeps in a room right next to his, and I just don't want him waking her. :(

I would begin by aiming for about 3 hours after a 45 min nap but you may need to tweak a bit x
