How do I get LO to eat more in the day??

This sounds EXACTLY like my 3 month old DS.  It's a struggle to get him to take a full feeding - some days we can only get 16-18 oz in him!  He's also really picky about how we feed him - we cant give him a bottle in the typical cradle hold.  He's got to be propped up in the swing or on our legs....and he's now starting to wiggle and squirm all over the place!  Our DS was diagnosed with reflux...but I don't know if I buy it because at night when he feeds he guzzles a 4 oz bottle no problem! 

I tried pushing his feedings farther apart in the hopes he'd be hungrier and eat more.... nope.  Just eats less.

Our LO is 13 weeks and we are having a terrible time getting him to take more than 3oz at a time during the day.  Often times he will only take 2.5!  But then, in the middle of the night, he will guzzle down a 4 oz bottle 2 or 3 times!! 

I've tried cutting down the oz at the last feed.  Even put him off from 2 am until his 7 am wake up - thinking that 5 hours would make him really hungry.  Nope.  Still barely took 3 oz. 

He's also now waking 3 x's a night again.  I'd think it was a growth spurt but he doesn't eat more in the day.

Just saw in another post that your LO was diagnosed with reflux...   

Honestly, this sounds much like uncontrolled reflux more than anything.... the acid is not controlled so he takes small feeds to calm the burn, so to speak, but refuses too much as it will cause reflux to worsen with a full tummy.  Then he wakes at night to eat as he is starving having not really had much overnight (many refluxers do this and will take more overnight than during the day).

Is he on meds for the reflux?  If so, which med, how much and what does he currently weigh?

Reflux can be cyclical  - my first screamed all day but bf well and STTN from exhaustion. My second had feeding problems, intolerances, napped ok but squirmed all night long but would feed ok drowsy.

Pualani8 does your LO drink normal formula or hyper allergic? - any intolerance symptoms? Is he on meds or a thickener for reflux?

Sorry for the delay!  I don't know if my DS really has reflux?  We've got him on Zantac....but I've missed a few doses on accident and it doesn't seem to make a difference.  He was never medically diagnosed....I just told the dr his symptoms and she said it "sounded like reflux."

I don't have him on thickeners.  We're slowly transitioning to formula since he quit breastfeeding.  I don't want to pump all the time!  He's currently about 70% BM 30% formula.  I actually think he's better on formula!  He would get so gassy on my bm- and I can never figure out what I ate to cause it!
