allergist recommendation - uk?
« on: July 25, 2013, 07:34:20 am »
Hi, I live in northern England and am seeking a private practice to administer food allergy tests. I'm not waiting for NHS to do its thing...the wait is excessive. Can anyone recommend somewhere in the north of England...? Thanks

I will have a lok into it. My son is seen at the Royal Manchester Children's hospital and they are fantastic but I think the specialists there are NHS only plus it may be a little far for you to travel.

Here is a link to private clinic. The only problem is it does not mention children on the website but you could ring and ask.

It might also be worth asking your GP for a referal to a private allergist as they are able to do this.

No, not yet. The GP was zero help stating we were best waiting for our referral and we were not a priority case and he wouldn't point me in the direction of private practice either. Newcastle is a bit of a trek in terms of follow up care so whilst I'm happy to travel that's a bit far unless we exhaust all other avenues. Have found something in Keighley which isn't too far but the personal recommendation still missing. Thanks for asking.
