Hugs for the inlaws and lack of sleep, and better naps and nights ahead!

Well then there's not really anything else you can do other than early bedtime.  You might still get an early WU but maybe it'll get an extra hour or so into him at the beginning of the night?  Sorry there hasn't been a solution, but it seems like you've tried everything  ???

I know it. Emma I'm at a loss. Tried so hard for that second nap but he will not apop at all unless he's exhausted. So bt today was 6:15. Not sure what tonight will bring but at least he's happy during the day. Not a clingy mess or anything like that.

I have not read the entire thread, but what happens if you push naptime back to noon or later?  Will he nap longer?  If not, at least you have a shot of pushing back BT???  Not sure, just a thought.

My DD is similar in age to your LO and due to daycare, has to nap around 12:30 regardless of WU time.  She is getting better with WU (was a chronic EW 5/5:30 until switch to 1 nap).  Even now, her usual WU time is between 6 and 6:30 - from time to time we do get pre 6 AM wakeups.  I cringe on those days, but because of daycare, she has to plow through until 12:30.  On those days, she'll usually nap for about 2.5 hours (average is 1.5-2).  It's hard for us to move BT earlier than 7:30 (7:45 is usual) due to work schedules and an older DS in the mix.

Looks like he's getting 11+ hours of NT sleep - which is pretty good in my opinion.  I started a thread about LO sleeping 12 hour nights, which is ideal, but doesn't seem to be the norm.  My son was a fantastic NT sleeper and never managed 12 hours, more like 11.  HUGS!!!

Edited to add, my DD does get a bit fussy at the end of the day when I pick her up at daycare.  But she is usually better after a small snack, some rough housing with big brother, and then dinner.

I guess my question is how do I push in nap time to noon when he's waking at 515. he's with me all day and I don't think I could get him to last until noon and he would only sleep for an hour and a half because of OTI would end up doing an early bedtime in which he doesn't tack and he'd end up waking early again this is my dilemma. Yesterday I was able to sneak in a cat nap in the morning so yesterday was

W: 5:15
CN: 8:15-8:45 due to class at 9:30
Nap 11:35-2:00
Bt 7

Woke at 5:30 :( wth

I'd just push it out a bit too so you can get BT a bit later! I've tried to stop stressing too much as LO is at nursery 3 days and sleeps rubbish...,30-45 mins most days and he copes even though OT sets in a bit I just go with it now!
Today for example WU 4.30am tried but ended up in our bed then slept from 5.30-6.30am and he's only gone for a nap at 11.30am after NW and rubbish naps yesterday if he sleeps 2 hours great but if not I just get on with it as he won't nap again!

I keep reminding myself that they are this small for such a short time that I need to chill out a bit or I'll spend all my time worrying about sleep :-)

So then maybe you should worry about pushing the nap when you get back.
